Job Overview

The Center for Smart, Sustainable & Resilient Infrastructure (CSSRI) at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Engineering and Applied Science, Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering & Construction Management invites applications for a Research Associate position.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct research in the areas of transportation infrastructure evaluation and pavement analysis with the aim of making the infrastructure safer and more economical.
  • Assist in the development and writing of research proposals for external funding in the area of transportation infrastructure.
  • Prepare technical reports and publications; disseminate study results and research findings in journals and professional meetings; present at technical conferences and seminars.
  • Perform analysis on big data obtained from different research projects using Python or C++.
  • Provide technical assistance on related research projects, such as preparing monthly progress presentations for funding agencies.

Required Education

Prior to the effective date of the appointment, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Required Experience

  • Six (6) journal publications related to transportation infrastructure evaluation and pavement analysis, which involved the analysis of big data
  • Two (2) published reports focused on transportation infrastructure evaluation and one published report on pavement analysis
  • Proficiency in Python or C++ as evidenced by one (1) completed course or certificate
