Location: Newtown, Connecticut Area
Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and qualified Onsite Educational American Sign Language Interpreter to work 1:1 with an elementary student for the 2025-2026 school year in the Newtown, CT area. This is a full-time, contract position offering 32.5 hours per week.
We are looking for an interpreter who is passionate about supporting student success and has prior experience in a school setting.
Responsibilities:Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation services to an elementary student in a classroom environment
Facilitate clear munication between the student, teachers, and peers
Ensure interpretation aligns with the students IEP goals and educational needs
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
Collaborate with educational staff and support the students full participation in all school activities
Must hold one of the following:
RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certification
NIC (National Interpreter Certification)
EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher (required in CT)
Experience working in a K-12 school setting highly preferred
Strong interpersonal and munication skills
Must pass background check and pre-employment screening
Position Details:Contract Duration: 2025-2026 School Year
Schedule: Full-Time, 32.5 hours per week
Pay Range: $35$45 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
