  • Demonstrate a strong passion for programming and coding, with a focus on developing tools and models that enhance engineering insight.
  • Communicate the "art of the possible" to internal and external stakeholders through well-structured, technically sound business cases that articulate benefits, enable opportunity development, and address risk.
  • Deliver and implement prototype and first-of-a-kind solutions aligned with ETs strategic objectives and customer needs.
  • Transition developed opportunities into business-as-usual processes, providing technical support and strategic guidance to ensure successful adoption.
  • Engage with customers, partners, stakeholders, government bodies, and other key influencers to maximise the potential for growth and innovation.
  • Lead power system analysis, specialist solution design, and engineering activities that transform complex opportunities into innovative, scalable solutions.
  • Build and refine electrical models to support long-term strategic planning and scenario comparison.
  • Analyse the impact of varying generation and demand profiles on the transmission network to inform operational and investment decisions.
What you'll need

We are looking for an experienced electrical engineer with a Power Systems background and an ability to develop engineering solutions to real life scenarios and Net Zero challenges.

Youll have a STEM degree with experience of the electrical or utilities industry and will have experience conducting power system studies and experience building models which give insights into long-term strategies. We are also looking for someone who has a knack for programming, writing and reading code (Python/SQL).

Experience of managing a solution focused team to deliver results will be needed as well as strong stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
