Job Title: MAC Technician or Mac Administrator
Location: Austin, TX (First priority) or Indianapolis, IN (2nd Priority)
Long term contract position
Mode of Interview: MS Teams Video call.

Mac Technician – Roles & Responsibilities
1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve issues related to macOS, Apple hardware (MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini), and software applications.
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for end-users.
Handle kernel panics, boot issues, and system crashes.
2. Hardware Repair & Maintenance
Perform hardware diagnostics and repairs (e.g., screen, battery, keyboard, SSD, RAM).
Replace faulty hardware components.
Work with Apple-authorized tools and parts.
3. Software Installation & Configuration
Install, configure, and update macOS and third-party software.
Set up user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
Troubleshoot app compatibility and performance issues.
4. System Imaging & Deployment
Use tools like Apple Configurator, JAMF, or Munki for mass deployment.
Set up and manage Mac devices in enterprise environments.
Create and maintain system backups and recovery images.
5. Network & Peripheral Support
Set up and troubleshoot Wi-Fi, Ethernet, printers, and external devices.
Configure network settings and VPN on macOS systems.
6. Security & Compliance
Apply system updates, security patches, and firmware upgrades.
Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies (encryption, password policy, etc.).
Use tools like FileVault, Gatekeeper, and MDM (Mobile Device Management).
7. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain service logs and repair records.
Document solutions, workflows, and technical procedures.
Report recurring issues or hardware failures to IT leadership.
8. Customer Service & Training
Educate users on macOS features, shortcuts, and best practices.
Provide excellent customer service in person or remotely.
Act as a liaison between users and higher-level technical teams when needed.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in information Technology or related field or equivalent experience required.
