Associated Builders and Contractors is a dynamic and influential organization dedicated to advancing the interests of the Merit Shop construction industry. With a seventy-five year history and a commitment to excellence, we strive to be a valuable resource for Merit Shops in the commercial and industrial construction market. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of Membership Development.
Position Overview
As the Director of Membership Development, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our association's reach and enhancing the overall membership experience. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and implementing strategies to recruit new members, engaging with existing members, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction and retention.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Recruitment
- Develop and execute targeted strategies to attract new members within the construction industry.
- Identify key sectors and organizations for membership growth and initiate outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to create compelling materials and campaigns to promote membership benefits.
Member Engagement and Retention
- Foster strong relationships with existing members through regular communication and engagement initiatives.
- Implement retention programs to ensure a high renewal rate and member satisfaction.
- Gather feedback from members and use insights to continuously improve the value proposition.
Event Promotion & Coordination
- Organize and promote networking events, conferences, and other activities to enhance member interaction.
- Facilitate member participation in events, fostering a sense of community within the association.
Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records and databases.
- Analyze membership trends and provide regular reports to the President.
- Identify and maintain record of high-priority prospective members.
Collaboration and Outreach
- Work closely with other departments to align membership initiatives with overall organizational goals.
- Establish partnerships with industry stakeholders to enhance the association's reach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, a related field or commensurate experience.
- Proven experience in membership services, sales, or business development, preferably within a trade association or similar industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute membership growth plans.
- Familiarity with the construction industry is a plus.
